Indeed, for these actions, the team of technicians from Fisotec has utilized the handheld laser scanner, Leica BLK2GO. The purpose was to significantly enhance the energy efficiency of the facilities integrated within this iconic building.
Why do we say it is an emblematic building? Quite simply because this residential building, located in the heart of Seville’s historic center, was built on top of a former 14th-century palace.
What was the purpose that Hotel Doña María conveyed to the Fisotec team? To generate a BIM model of both the building and its facilities (HVAC, electrical installation, hot water, and sanitation) in order to propose energy-saving measures.
What has been the process for data treatment? On one hand, it involved a preliminary review of the facilities with field technicians and scanning using Leica BLK2GO, followed by the processing of the point cloud data. Additionally, extensive office work was carried out to achieve the final BIM modeling.
The result? Exactly what was requested: a well-defined BIM model of the building and its facilities, perfectly suited for properly planning the necessary actions regarding energy efficiency.
